Yoga Flow @ Studio at Illuminations
Yoga that moves dynamically from one posture into another, following the breath. This continuous flow of movement and breath generates a meditative state, encouraging practitioners to let go of thought and focus on experience of the present moment. All levels from beginner to advanced yogi are welcome.
Class will meet every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the Studio at Illuminations, Suite 112 in the Cherry Building. Drop-in fee is $15. Discount packages are available.
Lynn Block is an instructor of fitness, and yoga for over 20 years. She has been passionate about fitness since college. She holds a BA in Education from Coe College, and a Masters in Educational Psychology, from University of Northern Iowa. She began teaching fitness classes in 1994. Lynn is certified as Group Exercise Instructor through American Council on Exercise (ACE) and American Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Lynn holds a Health Coach Certification and Personal Trainer Certification through American Council on Exercise (ACE). She also has a Lynn holds many fitness certifications, including Les Mills, Barre Above™, and Cycling.
Lynn’s yoga journey was a little unconventional. She was asked to sub a yoga class for a few weeks in 2004, and her fitness manager suggested that she pursue teaching yoga regularly. With a fitness background, Lynn wanted to find a yoga that fit teaching yoga in a gym setting, for all types of people seeking out the benefits of yoga. She found a Yogafit® and began her yoga journey in a Level 1 training 2005. Lynn has been instructing yoga since 2005, sprinkling different yoga training in over the years. She completed her 200 hour RYT in June 2017, and her 500 hour RYT in October 2020. Lynn has a lot of specialized yoga trainings- 140 hours of trauma informed yoga, 100 hour Women’s mind/body health, 100 hours Brain Health, 100 hour Holistic whole body Health, 100 hour Active Adult Health, 100 hour Athlete, 100 hour Warrior Kids, 100 hour Wellness yoga.
Lynn offers group yoga classes, one-on-one private yoga, Health coaching, and personal training.
Lynn’s style of instructing is inclusive, offering options for poses so that everyone can succeed in finding the pose that works for them. She also offers challenges for those that want to take them, or try a new pose. Lynn believes yoga is for everyone, and can have profound effects in our lives beyond the physical movement of poses.

At the Basics level the student will develop precise natural alignment, strength, flexibility, endurance, and a longer, more rhythmic breath. The student will learn the importance of smooth rhythmical breath, the wave-like motion of the spine, economy of movement, and relaxation-in-action, as together we build the foundation of their yoga practice. This class is accessible to those who are new to yoga, those who wish to deepen their practice, and to seasoned yogi’s who wish to enhance their current practice.
About Ellen: Ellen Noble has been practicing yoga for 23 years, and became a certified TriYoga instructor in 1999. She was instrumental in bringing TriYoga to the state of Iowa, and opened “Serenity Center for Yoga,” currently known as “TriYoga of Cedar Rapids,” in the year 2000. Ellen was a senior instructor, and half owner of “The 108 Yoga Studio” located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she resided from 2010-2017, when she moved back home to Cedar Rapids, and joined the Illuminations family of practitioners. Ellen is thrilled to be a part of the amazing and gifted teaching staff of “The Studio,” and cannot wait to share the many benefits and joys of the TriYoga teachings and practice with everyone!

* 4 sessions in a month for $40 (classes on any combination of days of the week but within the month/4 weeks)

I’ve been practicing yoga since the late 90’s in varying forms and styles. As someone with a history of complex trauma yoga has been a stabilizing and grounding practice that has proven to be a lifeline through my personal journey. At some point yoga became much deeper than just an avenue to strengthen the body and regulate emotions, it became a framework for how to live my life and eventually became the foundation of my being. The depression, anxiety and fear haven’t gone away, they are now just pieces of a much bigger picture and pieces of a much more fulfilling life. By guiding classes I hope to help others feel stronger and more flexible in the body while offering opportunities for deeper insights.
Classes are based on the 8 limbs of yoga and taught to all levels of experience, challenging enough for the seasoned yogi yet accessible to the beginner while offering some real food for thought.
Masks will be required unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.
